Tanzania has already secured SADC’s and other countries’ endorsement for its WHO Africa Director candidate, Dr Faustine Ndugulile,which is half of the required vote.
According to the country’s Minister for foreign Affairs and International Cooperation January Makamba, the government has officially launched the candidate of Dr Ndugulile this evening.
“We’re confident in his personal character and professional abilities to serve in this role. We’ve secured the endorsement of SADC and others, amounting to half of total votes,”noted Makamba on his X handle.
Previously, Dr Ndungulile has been a Minister for ICT Tanzania, a Deputy Minister for Health, with vast experiences in Healthcare and ICT policies
More broadly, he has contributed in strenghtening the health systems in Tanzania, Rwanda, Mozambique, Angola and South Africa.
According to his linkedin page, he is a policy maker, public Health and ICT enthusiast.He is known for taking science based approaches to health related matters whilst executing public health policy.
