Tanzania’s main road from Dar es salaam to the southern circuit of Lindi,Mtwara was today cut off by heavy rains.
But the Minister for infrastructure development Innocent Bashungwa ,who has visited the area says it would be re-instated in three days from today.
This is a major access road to this region also expected to host the $42bn LNG project whose arrangements are still under final discussions between the government and the investors consortium.
According to the minister, some 5 portions of the road have been destroyed, including Somanga – Mtama, Mikereng’ende area from Somanga and the Lingaula area from Lindi .
